Tasmania 5 Days Tour Itinerary
Immerse yourself in the beauty of Tasmania on our 5 Day Tasmania Tour. You will escape to wander through Tasmania’s wilderness and explore its own East Coast, including prominent landmarks like Cradle Mountain, Bay of Fires and Wineglass Bay – you’ll be sure to experience the very best of Tasmania.
Day 1: Hobart > Strahan
The tour kicks off in Mount Field National Park, a huge swathe of World Heritage listed wilderness that boasts the beautiful cascade of Russell Falls and some of the tallest trees on the planet. We’ll take a break on the banks of Lake St Clair, Australia’s deepest lake, where you might be able to spot the iconic platypus if you’re lucky. From there, we’ll explore Franklin-Gordon National Park for some impressive views. Before we head to Strahan, we’ll make a stop at Queenstown, which was once a mining town.
Day 2: The wild wild west coast
On the second day, we’ll start with a stroll through a lush rainforest of Tarkine to Montezuma Falls, the highest waterfall in Tasmania. Next is a visit to the Henty Sand Dunes or a cruise over the Gordon River (own expense). The choice is yours! We’ll then head to Ocean Beach for some fresh air and maybe even a dip. After it’s time to go back to Strahan again where you can delve into the historical roots of the British Empire. This will be the last night in Strahan because the next day we’ll drive to the north of Tassie.
Day 3: Cradle Mountain > Launceston
We’ll take a hike up Cradle Mountain on day three. For an impressive hike, you choose to go to Marion’s Lookout. Want to take a slightly easier hike? Walk to Dove Lake. At Ronny Creek we can spot some of our cute wombats. The next stop is Sheffield. Here, you can sample some of Tasmania’s most delicious flavours, including the famous local hot smoked salmon. You can also have a look at all the murals the town is known for. In the evening, we’ll venture to Launceston.
Day 4: Launceston > Bicheno
We head east on day four to Cataract Gorge and explore the beautiful East Coast of Tasmania, including the popular Bay of Fires. Here you can view some of the whitest sands in Tasmania and bathe in some of the clearest waters. We’ll then go to Bicheno where we will have our final sleepover.
Day 5: Freycinet National Park > Hobart
On the final day, we head to Wineglass Bay, where you can marvel at stunning views from the lookouts – if you’re feeling adventurous, you can climb the heights of Mount Amos to enjoy even more spectacular panoramas. For a more relaxed activity you can do a beach walk instead. From the lighthouse at Cape Tourville, you can enjoy some awesome views. On our way back to Hobart we drive along the Great Eastern Drive so you can take in more of those beautiful vista of the sea. Or snooze for a bit until we drop you off at your hostel or motel again.
