Port Stephens Tour Itinerary
Our 1 Day Port Stephens starts off with a journey to Port Stephens, passing over the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the striking North Coast of New South Wales.
We will stop for lunch (own expense) at the coastal town of Nelson Bay, the main town of Port Stephens with time to browse the souvenir shops and take in the local atmosphere.
Afterwards, we cruise to the best spots for seeing wild bottlenose dolphins frolicking in this wonderful region of Australia they call home. Enjoy complimentary tea or coffee, while our guide on board gives you a comprehensive explanation about these playful creatures. Bring your swimming gear if you want to have a swim in the boom netting attached to the boat on the way back.
If you are travelling during June and October, you will have the opportunity to upgrade to a whale watching cruise instead of the dolphin cruise. Each year thousands of humpback and minke whales migrate in the coastal waters off Australia’s south-east, and this is an amazing opportunity to view these astonishing animals in their natural habitat.
Back on land, we hop on a 4WD over Anna Bay to try the exhilarating experience of sandboarding down the enormous sand dunes. These constantly mutating sand dunes are the biggest in the Southern Hemisphere, so get your adrenaline pumping as you rush down.
As our 1 Day Port Stephens tour comes to a close, the adventure doesn’t end there. We journey back to Sydney via the coastline, take in the breathtaking views of Sydney and its famous surroundings.
